Monochromatic Birdie

Today I took part in the Ways To Use It Challenge at Splitcoaststampers. Everyday of the week there are different challenges at Splitcoaststampers that help you jump start your creativity. I usually look at the Color Challenge (Tuesdays) and the Sketch Challenge (Wednesdays) but I haven't really ventured to any of the other ones...the biggest reason is that I don't have enough time to stamp everyday. To find the challenges just go to http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ and on the opening page, look at the column on the right, follow it down a bit and you will see a list of the challenges. I happened to see that today they were doing a Monochromatic Challenge as the Ways to Use it Challenge, so I thought I would try. I love the look of monochromatic cards but I don't do them often because they intimidate me. This is what I came up with using that new set, "A Little Birdie Told Me". Can you tell what monochromatic color I was going with? HA! I paper pieced the bird again using the So Saffron Designer Series Prints paper. I used my Marvy Giga Scallop Oval Punch as the base for the bird (THANK YOU CLAUDIA!!!!). The remainder of the layers were done using the other prints in the So Saffron DSP collection. Do you like the layout? Well....that layout was done for the Sketch Challenge at SCS...Yes, you can combine 2 challenges (or more) in one card. SO, the next time you have a project to do and you feel as if you are creatively challenged, run over to SCS and see what you come up with!
