I got some new toys today! Actually I got a couple new toys...I got the one set I pre-ordered from the Spring/Summer Collection. I pre-ordered this set, "A Little Birdie Told Me". I have been really drawn to simple birds lately and I saw a set at Archivers that I liked but I held off hoping Stampin Up! would have a set with a couple birds in it here it is! This set is perfect! It has 8 different sayings, 2 birds and 3 other pictures (including this cute umbrella). This set is PERFECT for paper piecing. I have adored the look of paper piecing for some time but the few times I have tried, I haven't really liked the result. (Probably "user error" **did you see that Sue and Pat? Even I have "user error" too!) Anyway, I used the Cutie Pie designer paper, one of the few that is NOT being retired (THANK YOU SHELLI!!). I stamped the bird on the paper and then cut him out...after cutting him out I stamped the image on my white card stock and layered the cut out bird on top of the one on the white card stock. SIMPLE! Then I did the same with the umbrella only with the umbrella I used a Stampin' Dimensional to pop the umbrella top up. I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to align the umbrella and it turned out so cute!
I made this card for my oldest...she is 8 and stayed home from school today sick. And this time, she's not faking! She hasn't eaten yet and has thrown up any liquid (including acetaminophen to lower her fever). She grinned from ear to ear when she saw that mom made a card for her....

Hi Crystal,
This is a really cute card and I'm glad you held off on the Archiver's bird set. This is another great one from Stampin' Up!
