Scalloped Edge Christmas Ornament

A week or so ago, Taylor VanBruggen posted a tutorial on her blog about how to make these adorable ornaments with Stampin' Up!'s scallop edge punch. Since I love making ornaments at this time of year, I thought I would give it a try and I am in heaven! These are so easy to make, you have got to try them! The stamped image on this is from my most favorite Christmas set ever, Holiday Lane. This is from Lizzie Anne Designs. I adore the stamps that the girls at Lizzie Anne create and as soon as I saw this set, I had to have it. I have plans to make more ornaments using different color schemes. This one uses Kraft, Real Red and Old Olive. I also used Bordering Blue to color the snow on the roof of the house. I adore Santa's boots sticking out of the chimney on this image.

Speaking of Santa...what is on your wish list this year?

Another LAD Entry

Here is another entry for the LAD birthday contest. Probably my final entry as I am expecting some Stampin Up! goodies soon and we are working on some Christmas in July cards for CC Designs. I received the adorable Lulu Christmas set called Lulu's Sweet Dreams and I can't wait to ink that up! So be sure to check out the Design Team blogs in the next couple weeks for some fun Christmas in July stuff!

Back to the entry. This one coordinates with the one that I have already posted and I did that on purpose...I am going to be sending a set of these cards on to a secret sister I have. All the supplies are the same I just followed the sketch that was required. I used the 3rd sketch you could choose from. I hope you like it, and I hope the judges at LAD do too!

Another Lizzie Birthday

My 6 year old has a birthday party to attend this afternoon and it happens to be a princess party. (They are actually having Cinderella attend the party!) Anyway, with the gals at Lizzie Anne Designs running their birthday celebration contest I figured I may as well make another for submission (can you tell I want to win some LAD stamps?)

This is very straight forward and doesn't need much explanation except to point out that I stamped the castle (I love that image!) on the pretty in pink panel in Versamark. Not to dark, not to light and it is the perfect shade. I colored the flags with my Sakura Stardust Gelly Pen as well as the centers of the flowers on the background and parts of the princess crown. The only stamp on this card that is not from LAD is the single flower on the background. This flower is from the Stampin' Up! set Simply Said. That little flower is perfect for SO many cards. I seem to be constantly pulling that thing 0ut!

Anyway, I hope you have a great weekend. We don't have much planned, we recently started pulling wallpaper out of our bathroom (who puts wallpaper in a bathroom anyway? It peels and the seems start pulling apart as soon as someone uses the shower!) We are adding beadboard to the walls, it needs painted and we got new light fixtures. So today I think I'll be priming the beadboard. Not exciting at all but it's got to get done!

Happy Birthday Lizzie Anne Designs

Aside from CC Designs there are very few stamps other than Stampin' Up! stamps that I own. That doesn't mean that I don't LOVE to look at other companies stuff and that I would love to own LOTS of other stamps, but I just can't afford to do that....so, the stuff I do have is very select. I LOVE Lizzie Anne Designs stamps and the first stamp of theirs that I bought was their fairy stamp. It was used on a tooth fairy box (I believe that Cambria Turnbow did the project) and I fell in love. It was the first un-mounted stamp I purchased. I have gotten a lot of use out of this stamp and even won a contest with it. After winning a contest I sent the gals at LAD another card to say "thank you" and later found out they took it with them to Cha! So, this little fairy and I have become fast friends!

Lizzie Anne Designs is having a birthday coming up this month and they are having another contest so I thought I would see if this friend can help me win the entire summer release!!! They are giving three different sketches and you can enter as many times as you like (for more info check out this link: http://www.lizzieannedesigns.com/birthdaycontest.html) So I decided to make 3 cards, one for each of the three sketches, and make them coordinate. I have a plan so be patient with me as I work out how to put them all together. But, for the time being this is the first submission I will send them. Isn't she sweet?

Princess Birthday

One of my daughters is a huge girly-girl and for my birthday my secret sister for a SCS get together sent me a $15 gift certificate for some Lizzie Anne Designs stamps. I chose the set I used to create this girly card. My 5 year old had a birthday party to go to on Friday and this is the card I made. Unfortunately she didn't end up going because she got croup AGAIN. She gets it several times a year and this time she had a fever for a couple days so she missed 2 days of school and the party. She was a trooper though. I watercolored the images with my Aquapainter and SU ink. After it was all done I used my Stardust Gel Pen to add some sparkle on the castle shingles and parts of the princesses dress. I had to do the masking technique to get her hat to sit on her head...it took me awhile get it right but I finally did. I was at Cha!!!

Can you believe it? I can't. I bet I had a great time. No, I'm sure I did. I'm sure the excitement was amazing! How much you want to bet that I hung out with Taylor VanBruggen, Julie Ebersole and maybe even Nicole Hedy? Here's the story....I was looking at the Eclectic Paperie blog http://eclecticpaperie.blogspot.com/ and they were chitter chattering about them now carrying Lizzie Anne Designs stamps (you know I love their stuff!). So, they were saying that they saw them at Cha and loved the samples they had in their booth and that they have such talent in their design team and then I saw it! MY CARD! I sent it to the ladies at Lizzie Anne Designs some time ago. I think I sent it when I returned a stamp set to them that they had sent me in error. Now, let me say I am NOT a design team member at Lizzie Anne, though I would love to be! So, if anyone over at LAD sees this post remember, you must have liked me a bit to stuff me in your bag and take me to Cha! The First Baby Girl

A friend of mine is having her third child and this will be the first girl. She is so excited. Julia Grace isn't due until June but some friends of her's threw her a shower today and I had much fun making her a girly card done in mom's favorite colors of pink and brown. The patterned paper is from Close to My Heart (I know, GASP, I purchased from "the other" company, but a friend had a party and I felt like I had to order something, it is really pretty paper though). The adorable fairy is from Lizzie Anne Designs. I added Stickles because, well....every girl needs some sparkle!

Lizzie, It's Cold Outside...

Here is a project I did using Lizzie Anne Designs and some pretty Basic Grey paper (this is called Shiver). This card is for a LAD set swap I signed up for on Splitcoaststampers. I adore the Soft Sky and Caramel for winter themes so it was quite exciting when I found the patterned paper that had those colors in it. (A great thing about us stampers, we get excited by very small things!) In addition to these colors being great for winter, if you throw in some silver accents it really floats my boat! You have seen several cards lately on my blog using this set by LAD. It is the only set of theirs that I own but there are a couple on my wish list. They will be releasing some new stamp sets in the next week or so and I can't wait to see what they have to offer this time!
